According to the SERC official web-site, China generated 74.8 billion kWh of clean energy in November, an increase of 20.3%. From January to November, China absorbed a total of 887 billion kWh of clean energy power, a year-on-year growth of 24.7%, accounting for 20.2% of the total on-grid electricity, an increase of 3.3% from the same period of last year.

A residential distributed photovoltaic power source in Qingdao, Shandong, was successfully connected onto the Qingdao power grid on the 22nd of December, marking it the first official on-grid connection of residential distributed photovoltaic power source in China. This project is built by individual users on the roofs of their residential buildings with a total installed capacity of 2 kW and an on-grid voltage of 380/220V. The power was to meet the needs of the residents and surplus power was fed onto the grid.

The State Council Executive Meeting recently identified five policy measures to support the photovoltaic industry. China Southern Power Grid Corporation maintained that it would seriously study the policy measures and implement the spirit of the meeting. It will conduct relevant study on the policy and tariff mechanism, simplify the Golden Sun Demonstration Project approval procedures, improve photovoltaic grid technical standards and specifications, improve the grid’s capability to accommodate photovoltaic power generation by using smart grid technology and vigorously support the development of the photovoltaic industry.

After three years of development, the wind power installed capacity of the East Mongolian Power Grid has grown from 970,000 kW to 6.66 million kW, absorbing a total of 24.9 billion kWh in wind power. As of the end of November 2012, within the jurisdiction are 69 on-grid wind farms, accounting for 32% of the total installed capacity in the region, exceeding the world’s top wind power countries like Denmark (28%), Spain (17%) and Germany (21%). Its related indicators rank it top provincial power grid, with the highest level of on-grid absorption and the fastest growing speed, achieving world advanced level.
