The first wind power project invested in Pakistan by Chinese enterprises will soon commence

| Nanjing Sunec Wind Generator Equipment Factory and Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) jointly invested US$97.65 mln in building a 50MW-wind power project in Gharo. Currently, the preparation work has been completed and construction will be officially commissioned in June. Through 3 years of wind testing and pre-feasibility study, the cooperative construction agreement was officially signed in Dec.2007. Consisting of 10 5MW-wind farms with a total of 90 600KW-wind power generators, and covering about 6.5 km2, the project is going to be completed and commissioned for operation in July 2009 as planned. |
