Measures to combat losses in the power industry are under way.
Officials from the State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC) revealed on May 7 that they are drafting reports on solving losses in the power industry with NDRC, which will be submitted to the State Council by the end of May at latest.
It is learnt that relevant divisions of NDRC and SERC participated in the discussion hold similar opinions. In general, there are four programs. And as to detailed programs, there exist differences. The four programs include: providing direct financial subsidy to the power generating enterprise; raising the on-grid price of power enterprises while not increasing the retail price temporarily; provincial coal-electricity tariff automatic mechanism; nationwide coal-electricity tariff automatic mechanism.
Those drafts jointly formulated by relevant divisions of SERC, Economic Operation Bureau of NDRC and National Energy Bureau have been transferred to the Department of Pricing, NDRC.
As the above-mentioned programs all involve price, they will be jointly submitted to the State Council by the Department of Pricing of NDRC and Price and Finance Regulatory Department of SERC.
