According to Hinge Management Department of China Three Gorges Project Corporation, the earthquake hit in Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province brought no obvious impacts on the Three Gorges Dam, with construction and production work running smoothly.
At 14:28 on May 12 (Beijing Time), a 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province. It was also strongly felt in other parts of China, like Yichang City, Hubei Province, where office buildings jolted driving people flooding to the street.
The current examination situation shows no obvious impacts made on the dam by the earthquake. And construction and production work of the Three Gorges Dam Project are both running smoothly without abnormal accidents, revealed Hu Xing’e on the afternoon of 12th, Director of Hinge Operation Department of Hinge Construction & Operation Management Bureau of China Three Gorges Project Corporation.
